Earrings made with half spheres of ivory coloured glass, then decorated with lines of transparent yellow and silvered ivory. Mounted on medical grade stainless steel posts, these are earrings you'll love to wear every day.
The frosted finish gives a finish like the tumbled pebbles and glass you find on the beach.
Measurements
Glass half spheres are approximately 11.5mm in diameter and 7.5mm deep - as each earring is handmade they vary slightly, but you'll always get pair the same size.
The glass is melted onto stainless steel post so metal and glass fuse and the earrings have butterfly backs.
What are the earrings made from?
The glass hald sphere is made from soda lime (soft) glass and ivory glass mixed with fine silver. The posts and butterfly backs are medical grade stainless steel.
How are these earrings made?
We start by making the hald speherson the ends of the stainless steel posts. This fixes the glass securely without the need for drilling or glue. The earrings are then annealed to ensure strength and durability. The frosted finish is created by tumbling the earrings in a rock tumbler with sand, grit and water. Finally the earrings are cleaned and packed.
