A delicate necklace with a single clear glass link which passes through a bead made with mai tai glass and clear dots to add texture and create colour shifts.

Measurements

The bead measures approximately 15mm across the centre and 8mm wide. The link measures 34mm by 22mm. Together the link and beads are 41mm long.

The link is finished with a 45cm (18 inch) sterling silver trace chain. The chain closes with a bolt ring clasp which fastens through a jump ring.

How is this necklace made?

Creating this piece starts with making the beads.  Then the link is created and the bead is put in place before the link is closed. The piece is then annealed. There’s a final clean and polish and the link is put onto a chain.

What is the necklace made from?

The glass link and bead are both made from borosilicate glass. The link is clear and the bead is made from mai tai  and clear borosilicate glass, giving shades of pink, blue and purple. Both link and beads have a shiny finish.

    The best way to care for silver is to keep it in airtight packaging such as the tin it comes in when it’s not being worn. If it does tarnish (which is completely normal) it can be cleaned with a silver polishing cloth. Glass can be cleaned with soap and water and polished with a soft cloth.
