A delicate necklace with a single clear glass link which passes through a blue and clear glass bead.

Measurements

The bead measures 16mm across the centre and is 5mm wide. The link measures 34mm by 18mm. Together the link and bead are 40mm long.

The link is finished with a 45cm (18 inch) sterling silver trace chain. The chain closes with a bolt ring clasp which fastens through a jump ring.

How is this necklace made?

Creating this piece starts with making the bead. Then the link is created and the bead is put in place before the link is closed. The piece is annealed  before being polished and put onto a chain.

What is the necklace made from?

The glass link and bead are both made from borosilicate glass. The link is clear and the bead is made from a colour called Aurora Trails which gives a mix of blue and clear. The bead looks blue when viewed from the front – but turn it to the side and you can see the spirals of blue and clear.

Both the link and bead have been left with a shiny finish.
